We Are Introducing New Employee Care Developments related to our work on Sustaining the HR Award at the Faculty of Science MU

We went together through another half year in implementing the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R, HR Award) at the Faculty of Science MU. Let us have a look at  it.

No description

In March 2020, we have extended the faculty System of Positions and Job Titles to all positions (research staff positions were published in 2019). This, now complete system, formed a grounds for revision of employee assignment to positions, which is currently happening at individual faculty departments.

In April 2020, we have completed several months‘ efforts by publishing the Recruitment Process Guidelines, thus bringing detailed instructions and templates to the new faculty recruitment process as a continuation of the Recruitment Policy (OTM-R) SCI MU  published in 2019. Some of you belong to the group of circa 100 employees (leaders or administration support), who have already been trained on this new process, either online or in person. You may have also met us at some of the hiring procedures, where we participate as recruitment support upon a department head’s request.

During the springtime, we have not been able to avoid unexpected changes caused by the force majeure,  the coronavirus measurements, either. Among others, in April 2020, we had to cancel a planned workshop on leadership skills, where we arranged for an exciting personality as a lecturer - a former HR Director of the University of Cambridge and the current HR Director of the London School of Economics, Mr. Indi Seehra. We believe that it will be possible to make not only this workshop happen in the near future, but also other soft skills training.

In the past half year we have also started preparatory activities related to the faculty ombudsman role, seen as an independent and trusted channel for submitting proposals and complaints, a solution for eventual ethical or discriminatory cases, disputes and also diversity consultancy, to add to the existing university employee care tools.

By the end of 2020, we would like to complete and introduce a new Onboarding Process for Newcomers and new guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety.

You may have already got used to the bilingual internal communication, which is becoming a rule at the faculty, including gradual translations of faculty documents and remaining sections of the website. Your suggestions to this area are welcome; please write to us.

We want to thank you for your kind support and wish you a wonderful and recharging summer. We are looking forward to our further cooperation.

Yours,

SCI MUNI HR Award team
