The aim of the project is to gain new knowledge of some relicts of Miocene sediments on the eastern margin of the Bohemian Massif on the basis of their detailed sedimentological and paleontological studies. The hitherto sedimentological analyses of these relicts in the wider surroundings of Moravské Budějovice will be enlarged and new complex analyses of the relicts from the wider surroundings of Brno, Ivančice, Tišnov and Jevíčko will be made. The results of these analyses will be used for the ascertai ning of the stratigraphic positions of individual localities and for the interpretations of their sedimentary conditions and paleoenvironmental changes. These deductions could enable to define more exacly the limits of the marine sedimentation of the Car pathian Foredeep on the Bohemian Massif. The mutual correlations of individual relicts will be made and they will be compared even with the stratigraphically equivalent sediments from the Carpathian Foredeep.
