The main objective of the submitted project is investigation of transport of salt solutions in the porous structure of concrete, definition of the conditions for efflorescence formation on its surface and the methods of efflorescence formation prevention or removal. These objectives require the fulfillment of the following requirements:Analysis of the present-day knowledge in the domain of transport effects in the porous structure of concrete and the conditions of efflorescence formation, including math ematical models of diffusion. Analysis of the existing cases of formation in close co-operation with the producers, material suppliers and implementing companies. Setting up of basic parameters of model samples of concrete, namely with regards to the por ous structure of cement bonding agents and chemical and petrographic composition of cement and aggregate. Definition of conditions for the transport of salt solutions in the porous structure of concrete with regards to temperature gradient affecting salt
