We met with the students via MS Teams. Presentation „Excellent PhD Graduates at SCI MUNI: Expectations and Support“ of vice-dean Luděk Bláha was followed by talks of doctoral students sharing their stay abroad experience. At the end, there was time for questions and discussion.
Besides the Thursday’s live session, we prepared an off-line programme of presentations, info videos and poster session. Presentations introduced stay abroad opportunities, and HR Award and implemented HR Strategy for Researchers project’s goals and plans for PhD study at SCI MUNI. A package of info videos recorded by the Rectorate of MU led students step by step through the most important moments and parts of doctoral studies at MU, whilst last year’s PhD Day video presented specifics of PhD studies (not only) at Faculty of Science MU, and also both faculty libraries were introduced. Study and research opportunities were to be found in poster session, where study programmes, departments, research groups, labs, or PhD topics were presented.
The goal of the PhD Day is that fresh PhD students and students considering PhD study at Faculty of science get acquainted with various aspects of doctoral studies. We do hope, that the goal was achieved, most of the topics covered, and questions answered.
