Open Science Roadshow MUNI at the Faculty of Science

Open Science is, among other topics, a part of the revised action plan HRS4R / HR Award SCI MUNI for the period 2021-23. This theme is one of the current priorities of the European Commission for science and research and Masaryk University is actively preparing the MUNI Open Science Strategy for 2022-2028. This university-wide strategy was presented at the Faculty of Science on May 18, 2021 as part of the Open Science Roadshow, which marked the beginning of our faculty journey to a new approach to working with scientific results.

On May 18, 2021, an Open Science Roadshow took place at our faculty.

The topic of Open Science (modern access to and management of scientific results in science) resonates more and more in academic and research community. Both internationally (the European Open Science Cloud initiative or the Horizon Europe framework program) and in the Czech Republic.

Masaryk University does not want to be left behind in Open Science. Therefore it is preparing the MUNI Open Science Strategy for 2022-2028 to make it as easy as possible for its employees to adapt to the upcoming changes in scientific practice. The strategy focuses primarily on Open Access areas (open access to scientific publications) and FAIR Data (research data).

The Open Science topic is also embedded in the new people strategy of The Faculty of Science MU, HR Award/HRS4R.

The Open Science Roadshow goal was to present the draft of the Open Science Strategy MUNI 2022-2028 at individual Faculties and Institutes and to obtain feedback from researchers. The feedback will help the University Open Science Team finalize the strategy draft and prepare it for university management approval in autumn 2021.
