An outstanding scientist, Prof. Vladimír Sklenář, has passed away

One of the most prominent and internationally recognized experts in the field of structural biology, Professor Vladimír Sklenář, who contributed to the development of NMR spectroscopy in the Czech Republic, passed away on 13 April 2024. Professor Sklenář's research significantly enriched physical chemistry in general, and his Watergate method in particular is now universally used in biomolecular biology. The research infrastructures in the field of structural biology and NMR spectroscopy in particular, which Vladimír Sklenář has been supporting in recent years, have an international reputation. His tenure at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University and the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) was characterised by a great passion for scientific challenges and a great deal of humanity with which he approached his colleagues.
